Provironum by Schering is a product based on Mesterolone, commonly named Proviron. The substance is an extremely mild oral steroid with very little anabolic effects and mild androgenic effects. The main benefit of Proviron is its anti-estrogenic effects. The steroid is commonly used as an aromatase inhibitor during a cycle of steroids that highly aromatize. Proviron will provide slightly more benefits than simply using an AI like anastrozole or letrozole for example.

By reducing estrogen and increasing testosterone levels, Proviron will reduce the amount side effects received from other steroids in the cycle as well as enhance and preserve their effects.

Effects of Proviron

Some of the most important reasons why Proviron is so useful in combination with other steroids are:

  • It prevents aromatization
  • Increases the amount of free testosterone in the body
  • Preserves libido and fertility
  • Gives more definition to the muscles
  • No toxicity to the liver

How to take Proviron pills

The recommended Proviron dosage for men is in the range of 25mg to a maximum of 100mg per day. Generally, higher doses are split evenly into 2 doses per 24 hours. Due to the androgenic effects of the steroid, women should take doses of Proviron that are no higher than 25mg in one day.

The length of the Proviron cycle will depend on when it is used. The versatile steroid can be used during the steroid cycle or after the cycle during post-cycle therapy (PCT).

If you wish to take Proviron on cycle, you should start taking it from the second or third week of the steroid cycle and continue to take it daily until 2 weeks after the steroid cycle has been completed. Then you will start your PCT immediately after that.

Proviron for PCT will usually be combined with SERMs like Tamoxifen or Clomid, and in this case, Proviron use will last for the full length of PCT (which is generally 3-4 weeks.)
