Alto Healthcare‘s Doxee is the brand name for the tetracycline antibiotic Doxycycline. Doxycycline is used to treat urinary tract infections, intestinal infections, lung infections, eye infections, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and periodontitis, among other bacterial infections (gum disease). Because it can treat blemishes, pimples, and acne-like lesions, it’s also a popular acne and rosacea treatment.
Effects of Doxycycline
The antibiotic is used to treat inflammatory acne that is moderate to severe, or mild inflammatory acne that has improved despite various therapies. This type of acne arises when bacteria grows in clogged skin pores, resulting in an inflammatory red bump. Doxycycline helps to prevent acne by lowering the quantity of Cutibacterium acnes (acne-causing bacteria) on the skin and by reducing inflammation.
How take the drug
Doxycycline tablets should be taken at least one hour before or after eating. Doses are usually between 100mg and 200mg (1-2 pills) each day. The drug is normally taken for 7-14 days or until your skin clears up.
